Hello! We are Nekotsuki Dolls, a creative community of living dolls.
Yes, you heard that right — dolls. We love creativity, travel, and chocolate. Especially chocolate and coffee! We also tell stories about our world, Anvil, where we live, and about our adventures in our little doll town, Puppetville. These stories are written in the style of urban and dark fantasy.
We are not ordinary dolls. We belong to a race called the Silferrins, or “living dolls.” The name Silferrins was given to us by our neighbors, the elves, while humans call us “living dolls.” Our biochemistry is different from that of humans or elves, though we, too, descend from ancient primates—just like you. Long ago, our ancestors found themselves at the center of a meteorite impact, and since then our bodies have gradually absorbed silicon. So yes, we are truly carbon-silicon lifeforms.
Since the purpose of this site is to introduce humans to us, we’ll mostly use the term “living dolls”, and in scientific articles — “Silferrins.”
Nekotsuki Dolls lives in Puppetville, a small town in the country of Feental, located in the world of Anvil — an alternative version of your world. It differs from Earth only in that it has us, the living dolls, terrifying monsters, and slightly different geography and continental shapes. In our world, elves and faeries also exist, though these races are nearly extinct. Vampires live among us as well, but they are few. Altogether, there are about one hundred million living dolls in the entire world.
We have our own language, customs, and traditions. All living dolls of Nekotsuki Dolls love beautiful clothing and elegant dresses in Lolita fashion and Harajuku style. We also adore everything aesthetic that has been created throughout our history. We don’t just introduce humans to our world — we also love learning about the human world. Sometimes we write about it in our Art Column. Each of us has her own section: Luna writes about art, Clara shares recipes, Francesca reviews books, Patrick talks about anime, and Rafaella discusses her favorite films.
